2008 Davis Cup Betting Odds
2008 Davis Cup Betting Odds: On September 19-21, the 2008 Davis Cup semis serves off from Madrid, at Spain’s Las Ventas Bullring. This event will be played on clay-surface. And is there someone who’s better at competing against the world on clay than the world’s No. 1? Doubtful. The 2008 Davis Cup Betting Odds are now available at SportsBook.com. Today, it was announced by captain, Emilio Sanchez Vicario, that the top-seeded, Rafael Nadal will lead Team Spain when they host defending champion the United States, in the 2008 Davis Cup semifinals. The USA and Spain will play a best-of-five series against each other. Strangely enough, neither the United State, nor Spain is betting odds favorites to win the 2008 Davis Cup. Argentina currently has the best betting odds to win the 2008 Davis Cup by +120. Nadal, who just a few days ago was defeated by Andy Murray in the 2008 U.S. Open semifinals, appeared exhausted after a very grueling season. Nevertheless, Rafa will give it a go: “He lost a match but the tiredness and stress are within the usual limits,” said Sanchez Vicario. “He is very enthusiastic about this tie,” he...

Roger Federer Wins US Open 2008
Roger Federer Wins U.S. Open 2008 : On Monday, under the bright lights of New York, Roger Federer made history once again by claiming his 5th consecutive U.S. Open title, and his first Grand Slam tournament of the year. At 27-years-old, this (13th major) win places Federer just 1 shy of Pete Sampras ’ all-time record of 14 Grand Slam championships won. The Swiss accomplished this feat by avoiding the No. 1 seeded, Rafael Nadal , whom has defeated him in two other Grand Slams this season. Instead, Federer took on the No. 6 seed, Andy Murray. For the first time all season long, Federer showed his championship form, as he played like his old self, and overwhelmed Murray in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5, 6-2. Federer breezed in his US Open finals match against Murray, by winning 36-16 in winners. A (much) humble Federer (than the one we are used to), spoke after his victory: “I feel like a New Yorker, whatever that is... I always knew that if I were to get one Slam under my belt, especially the last one, things weren’t looking that bad, like everybody was talking about…...

Roger Federer vs Andy Murray US Open 2008 Betting Odds Preview
Roger Federer vs. Andy Murray US Open 2008 Betting Odds Preview: Andy Murray was able to do the impossible in last night’s U.S. Open 2008 semi-final (continuation) match against No. 1 seeded, Rafael Nadal . For the first time in his already illustrious career, the Spaniard appeared winded, as his hopes for a first Flushing Meadows Open finals, faded. Tonight, Andy Murray will face the world’s No. 2 seed, Roger Federer, under the bright lights of New York in primetime on CBS. At BodogLife.com, Roger Federer is an overwhelming -200 U.S. Open 2008 betting odds favorite against betting underdog Andy Murray (+150). Against Nadal, Murray had such great control of every point, as he dictated the pace and rhythm of the match. It was so evident that, even against a guy who couldn’t be in better physical shape as Rafa is, couldn’t keep up. However, there’s very little time for Murray to celebrate his victory over the world’s best, as now he gets the second world best in the finals. But if there’s something the 6th seeded Murray can hang his hat on, is the fact the he owns a winning record...

Andy Roddick vs Novak Djokovic US Open Predictions
Andy Roddick vs Novak Djokovic US Open Predictions: American Andy Roddick will get his chance at the guy he called “one of the most courageous guys of all time” in Thursday evening’s 2008 U.S. Open quarterfinals. Andy Roddick and others have freely suggested (to the media), that Serbian Novak Djokovic fakes injuries, and repeatedly calls health trainers on the court to gain some sort of advantage during his matches. At SBGglobal.com, American, Andy Roddick is a +115 betting odds underdog against Serbian Novak Djokovic (-145). Roddick is coming off a very impressive win over a very tough 11th seeded, Fernando Gonzalez in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, 6-1. The 2003 U.S. Open champion played almost a perfect match by winning 53 of 62 points. “You never think you’re just going to run away with it,” said the 8th seeded Roddick. When asked about his upcoming showdown with the world’s #3, a very sarcastic Andy Roddick told reporters: “I’ve got to feel good, he’s got about 16 injuries right now: bird flu, Anthrax, SARS, common cough and cold… and a back, and a hip? Either he’s quick to call the trainer or one of...

Roger Federer vs Gilles Muller US Open 2008 Prediction
Roger Federer vs Gilles Muller US Open 2008 Prediction: Roger Federer had quite the scare in his 4th round 2008 U.S. Open match against a scrappy 23rd seeded, Igor Andreev. The Swiss came out center court on Tuesday, and simply didn’t have it. It was anything but what we are used to seeing from the former No. 1, as he continued to play an error-filled match. Federer escaped by the skin of his teeth. On Thursday afternoon’s quarterfinals match, Federer will face the 130th ranked Gilles Muller. Federer vs. Muller has a scheduled starting time of just after 2:15 PM ET from Flushing Meadows in New York. At SBGglobal.com, Roger Federer -2,000 is an overwhelming 2008 U.S. Open quarterfinals betting odds favorite against Gilles Muller (+1,100). The consecutive 4-time U.S. Open champion Roger Federer, committed a dreadful 60 unforced errors, and was just able to get passed Igor Andreev in a grueling 5-set match, 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. Federer was definitely pushed to the limit by a clearly less talented player: “It was a tough match… he was...
